Trade Compliance Analyst, ACT Trade Advisory

Description Amazon Customs and Trade (ACT) ensures the compliant movement of goods across international borders, delivering end-to-end trade compliance solutions that power Amazon's global supply chain. We're looking for an analytically minded, detail-oriented Trade Compliance Analyst to help ensure every cross-border transaction meets global regulatory requirements — and to help us raise the bar on how Amazon approaches international trade.

Key job responsibilities

  • Classify products under the U.S. Harmonized Tariff Schedule and global tariff schedules to ensure accurate duty treatment and regulatory compliance
  • Monitor and interpret evolving trade regulations, sanctions, and import/export requirements; assess and communicate operational impact to internal stakeholders
  • Maintain working knowledge of partner government agency (PGA) requirements (FDA, USDA, CPSC, EPA, FCC, Fish & Wildlife) and ensure required permits, licenses, and certifications are obtained and documented
  • Support administration of free trade agreements (e.g., USMCA) by conducting rules of origin analyses, managing certificates of origin, and identifying duty savings opportunities
  • Screen transactions against restricted and denied party lists; escalate potential violations as required
  • Review and audit entry filings, customs documentation, valuation, and country-of-origin determinations for accuracy
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to resolve compliance holds, discrepancies, and regulatory inquiries
  • Build and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and compliance controls; develop training materials to strengthen the organization's trade compliance posture
  • Manage and communicate exam, inspection, and hold statuses internally and externally to minimize supply chain disruption
A day in the life Your day will be a dynamic blend of strategic analysis and detailed problem-solving. You'll navigate intricate trade regulations, classify products, and ensure Amazon's international shipments meet every regulatory requirement with precision and expertise.
